Jesse G. Ray, Jr.
Jesse Ray, Jr. assumed management of the business in August, 1994, after the death of Jesse Ray, Sr. His previous career was with Progress Energy as an Area Manager. Most recently, Mr. Ray had the opportunity to serve as Special Assistant to the Chancellor of UNC Asheville. Mr. Ray is a graduate of Lincoln University, Oxford, PA. He completed additional study at the University of Michigan. Mr. Ray is active in the Community and has served on numerous boards including UNC Asheville, the YMI Cultural Center, Mission Hospitals, American Heart Association and United Way. Mr. Ray is married to the former Donna Morrison and they have four adult children. The combination of growing up in the family funeral business and management experience in both the public and private sector, enable Mr. Ray to bring a distinct level of professionalism, customer service and compassion to serve families as well as lead the staff.
Bryant is the third generation of the Ray family providing death care service.
Larry McIntosh is licensed as both a Funeral Director and Embalmer. He received his degree in Funeral Service from Fayetteville Technical College and passed the National Funeral Service Board Certification.
Mr. McIntosh has 25 years experience in funeral service and was mentored and performed his apprenticeship with Jesse Ray, Sr.
In addition to his funeral service experience, Mr. McIntosh has additional technical expertise as a certified pathology assistant.
He strives to provide the very best customer service possible.
Ray & Allen Funeral Service is fortunate to have a core group of individuals who make up the team to provide professional, quality and compassionate service to area families. The Funeral Service Assistants include: Benjamin Hall, Walt Robertson, James Shade and Willie Hayes Tobe.
Sunset Cemetery is located in South Asheville, on the corner of Sweeten Creek Rd and West Chapel Rd. Graves are available for adult traditional and eco-friendly burial. There is special space for infants and children. The cemetery has a regular maintenance program to insure a respectable appearance for families and their loved ones. The management team includes the following personnel: Jesse Ray - Manager, Leonard Mapp - Maintenance Manager - Leonard Little - Maintenance Assistant
