Obituary

Willie “Mary” Tucker, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022, at the age of 81. Mary was born on May 26, 1940, in Spartanburg, SC to the late Charlie and Patricia West Tucker.

Mary moved to Asheville, NC as a young child with her mother, father and 6 siblings. She graduated from Stephens-Lee High School. Mary was previously employed at the Alcohol/Drug Treatment Center and Dollar Tree. She was a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Superintendent of Sunday School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Peggy Tucker and brother, Jesse Tucker.

Left to cherish her memory are children, Christa “Lottye” Jones and William “Choo-Choo” Harrison; brothers, Charlie Tucker, Tommie Tucker, Johnny Tucker; sister, Annie Tucker; grandchildren, Monique Cox, Rashunda Harrison, Revonda Harrison, Kiayan Jones; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be from 3:00-7:00 pm Friday, January 28, 2022 in the chapel of Ray Funeral & Cremation Service. Funeral service will be 12:00 pm Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
