Deacon Troy Thurman Hall, 85, was born January 8, 1935 to the late Vivian and Ella Shepherd Hall in Franklin, NC. Troy departed for his heavenly home December 19, 2020 after 7 years of residence at the NC State Veterans Home, Black Mountain, NC.
Troy was a graduate of Reynolds High School, Canton, NC. He attended NC A&T State University and studied mechanical engineering. He retired from Champion International Paper Co. after 40 years of service.
He was a member of Hill Street Baptist Church serving as Sunday school teacher, Deacon, Choir Member, New Membership Class Teacher, Layman League President. He was a member of the Masonic Temple and the Elks Lodge.
Troy leaves to cherish him forever, his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Josephine B. Hall and their dog, Coco; goddaughters, Tammy Hall McDowell , Ariel Crump and Alea Crump; special cousins, Rosedell Thomas, Julia Ann Bryson and Boyd Hall.
Public viewing will be 1:00-7:00 pm Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in the chapel of Ray Funeral & Cremation Service. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Hill Street Baptist Church. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Lewis Memorial Park. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, attendance will be limited to 50. Attendees must wear a face covering, sanitize hands and social distance.
