Obituary
Robert Haynes, 82, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Mission Hospital. He was born on June 7, 1940 in Asheville, NC to the late Curtis Haynes, Sr. and Elizabeth Sharp Haynes.
Robert worked as a laborer with the City of Asheville until retirement. He was a faithful member of Hill Street Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Harrison Haynes; son, Robert Haynes, Jr.; brother, Curtis Haynes, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory is son, Rodney Haynes, Jr.; stepchildren, Evangelina Harrison, Tommy Harrison, Sr., Elijah Harrison, Sr.; grandchildren, Germinka Searles, Travis Haynes, Maneisha, Nahla, Shataya Haynes, Derrick Lordman, Jermaine Haynes; over 40 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special cousin, Carrie Arlene Hall; other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00am Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in the chapel of Ray Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service. The service will be livestreamed here on the website.
