Mr. Philippes “Phil” Lee Dargan was born in Norwalk, Connecticut to Ruth Mae Dorleans of Norwalk, Connecticut, and William Lee (Faye) Dargan of Roxboro, North Carolina.
Phil attended Norwalk public schools. He was a United States Marines Veteran. He relocated to Asheville, North Carolina over 10 years ago and lived there until his death. Phil loved his family and friends. The room was always full of laughter once he told a joke or two or did great imitations of family (especially his father who he called WL) and friends.
Phil was preceded in death by his brother, David D. Johnson; his sister, Yvenette Dorleans; and stepmother, Eloise J. Dargan.
Surviving his departure with cherished memories includes his parents; his daughter, Anastasia Marie Smith Wilson (Kevin) of Winston Salem, North Carolina; his son, Philippes (Little Phil) Dargan, Jr., of Norwalk, Connecticut; a granddaughter, Nevaeh Smith; a brother, Wilbur (Patricia) Dargan, of Kauai, Hawaii; sisters, Angel Dorleans, Brenda Yvonne Dargan, and Deacon Phyllis Willean Johnson all of Norwalk, Connecticut, Vanessa (David) Dargan Diamond of Brooklyn, New York; stepsister, Reverend Denise (Elder Willis) Wilson, of Midland, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorial Service will be 12:00 pm Thursday, August 11, 2022 in the chapel of Ray Funeral & Cremation Service.
