We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Ray Funeral & Cremation Service
Mrs. Louvenia Muckelvene Davidson was a native Ashevillian born to the late Louis and Janie Trailor Muckelvene. She was the last of the eleven children of that union. Louvenia went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 11, 2022.
Louvenia came to know the Lord early in life. As a child, she attended St. John A Baptist Church in the Kenilworth community where her siblings and immediate family served and worshiped. Her wonderful soprano voice would beltout “Old Rugged Cross” as she did her household chores.
She was a great cook! Her specialty was "buttery” fruit cobblers (especially peach) which she constantly shared with neighbors in the Eastend and Shiloh communities. She also mastered the art of soul cooking and REFUSED to surrender her ole-school seasoning ingredients. One of her many talents that will be missed.
In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by sons, Herman Kenneth and Steve; daughters, Deariest Louvenia and Carolyn “KK”; grandson, Steffon Davidson.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Arthur (Brenda) of Asheville, NC, Larry “Dave” (Rose) of Lubbock, TX; daughter, Judy McMahan of Asheville, NC; special caregiver and grandson, Talvyne McMahan, whom she dubbed “Squiggy”; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
Special thanks to friend and care-giver, Mrs. Linda Campbell and good friend, Mrs. Sue-Etta Mosley.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, July 18, 2022 in the chapel of Ray Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed here on the website.
