Louis Solomon

November 22, 1943 ~ April 30, 2022 (age 78)


Louis Solomon, 78, was born November 22, 1943 in Asheville NC and received his Angel Wings on April 30, 2022. He was a son of the late  Grace Adams Solomon and Lewis Craig, a former Tuskegee Airman during World War II.

Louis was a graduate of Stephens-Lee High School, Class of 1962 and played trumpet in the famous marching band. He was also a member of the Photography Club and developed a passion for photography. Louis was recognized for his love of cars and racing. He owned a purple Dodge Charger he affectionately named “Plum Crazy” and a yellow Mustang named “The Boss”. Louis also owned two motorcycles and was an avid Harley -Davidson rider. He enjoyed auto mechanics and was able to repair different styles of cars and motorcycles.  During high school, Louis was an employee of Gordon’s Jewelers. He was a shift supervisor for Square D Company and retired after 38 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Dillard and Bertha Swaggert; wife of 42 years, Consuela Sartor Solomon.

Surviving family include his children, Angela F. Solomon, Winston- Salem NC, Louis Craig Solomon (Sharon), Mt. Holly NC and Ricky S. Solomon (Michelle), Norfolk VA; brother, Johnny Solomon (Pamela), New York, NY; sisters, Sheila Solomon, Baltimore, MD and Patricia Solomon, New York, NY; sisters-in- law, Veronica E. Sartor  and Carolyn L. Sartor,  Asheville. grandchildren, Y. Sherese Solomon, Asheville NC, CJ Solomon, Asheville NC and Desmond Solomon (Katrice), Fuquay - Varina NC, Brandon Baxter, Mobil AL, Shanice Solomon (Eugene), Asheville NC , RJ Solomon, Norfolk VA, Jasmin Woodson, Augusta GA, and  Sharmell Carothers, Mount Holly , NC; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins; other loving relatives and friends.

Louis will be loved and missed forever by his immediate family, extended family and friends.
