Jennifer Rose Arnette, who some will remember as Jennifer Rose Johnston, moved onward and upward on the next stage of her journey on Oct 2nd, 2021. She is survived by her husband Thomas; her son, Rocco; her daughter, Halle; and the many family and friends who cherished her luminous, wise, and loving presence in their lives. She was an irreplaceable daughter, sister, wife, and mother, and her passing has left a wake in the lives of all who knew her.
Jennie was born on May 3rd, 1985 in Dallas, Texas, to Mark and Jamie Johnston. She spent most of her life in North Carolina, with her early years on the Outer Banks, and her longtime home being her beloved Asheville. To those who really knew her, she embodied the better angels of human nature.
Jennie was a brilliant woman, who loved reading and writing, art and culture, travel and music. Her voracious curiosity was an inspiration to many she knew, and given more time, she would have continued to have an outsized impact on the world around her.
Jennie was passionate about helping people rebuild their lives, and work in this field was one of her greatest joys, as well as her calling. The many people Jennie had a hand in helping are a testament to the great and giving spirit she had inside of her, and the repercussions of her devotion to others will continue bearing fruit indefinitely.
Jennie was a devoted mother who loved her children more than anything, and her daughter Halle and son Rocco both benefited from her adventurous, creative, and unique perspective and the ways she made living a normal day seem like a special event because one happened to be with her.
All touched by Jennie were blessed to have her in their lives. Her life will continue to matter long into the future.
