James Gregory Grudger, 60, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in St. Louis MO.
James or "Red" as he was affectionately known, was a native of Asheville and a son of the late Richard Blue and Anna Faye Gudger Galloway. He attended the Asheville city schools and was a graduate of Asheville High School Class of 1979. Red was a member of the Asheville High School Cougar wrestling team. He served in the U S Armed Services as a member of the US Coast Guard. His religious affiliation was under the leadership of Bishop Matthew Ferguson of St. Louis. Red enjoyed the challenge of playing video games.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by maternal grand parents James and Mary Gudger and cousin Jermaine Little.
Surviving family include his wife, Elaine Thompson Gudger; sons, James Gregory Gudger, Jr. (Arinicia) and David Gudger; sisters, Kimberly Johnson and Debra Blue; brothers, Vance Blue, Richelle Blue and Richard Blue, Jr.; grandchildren, Jamecia Gudger and James Gregory Gudger, III; step-daughters, Janae Boykin and Jasmine Stanley. several nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 18, 2020 in the chapel of Ray Funeral & Cremation Service. Public viewing will be 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 10:00 am Monday, December 21, 2020 at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Mountain Home, TN. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, attendance will be limited to 50. Attendees must wear a face covering, sanitize hands and social distance. The service will be live streamed via the website.
