Dwight Aaron “Dooda” Allen was an amazing son, brother, dad, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He left this world suddenly on November 13, 2021 at the age of 56.
Dwight was born to Sherlyn and Willie Allen on March 18, 1965, in Asheville, North Carolina. He attended Asheville City Schools and graduated from Asheville High School in 1983. After graduating from high school, the journey to accomplish his dreams continued. Dwight attended Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Next, he relocated to Atlanta. As he continued his journey of endeavors, he focused on his culinary skills and became a Chef, preparing a wide variety of spicy dishes. Of course, he remained a trend setter with his great sense of style and fashion. In fact, he was recognized and covered in a magazine as a Sophisticated Male with fashion for Men. Finally, he was an entrepreneur, and owner of Beauty Made Easy 4U, an online skin and beauty supply store in Durham, NC. Although, he loved all of his jobs his greatest joy was being a father to his two daughters: Taja Allen (Atlanta, GA) and Dasani Allen (Kings Mountain, NC).
Dwight lit up every room with his great personality and sense of style. He was always dressed to impress for every occasion or even just to sit around the house. To accompany his love of fashion, he was also a music connoisseur with a collection of hundreds of albums, cassette tapes, and cds. Regardless of the situation, Dooda made sure everyone had a smile or ball of laughter with his hilarious jokes and story-telling. In fact, he often held great debates due to his deep studies in areas of interests such as religion, sports, politics, or just “hood economics.” Even if you were staying for a while and needed to eat, he was prepared to feed you like a king or queen.
Dwight was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dorothy and Leonard Smith (Asheville, NC) and Tomacina Boyd (Asheville, NC); his aunts, Billie Doris Atkins (Bronx, NY), Phyphine Whitted (Asheville, NC); and his uncle, Leonard Forris Smith (Asheville, NC).
