Obituary

David Anders Paddock, 83, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at the John F. Keever Solace Center. He was a native of Westchester County, New York and a son of the late Andrew Billings Paddock, II and Ingegard Paddock Blum.

David was a graduate of Virginia Tech University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was also a member of the Corps of Cadets. He continued his military service with active duty in the U S Army and achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He then served in the Army Reserves rising to the rank of Captain. David was employed by several engineering firms including BAE Systems, an international advanced technology defense company. As a result of his education and commitment to his work, he obtained Professional Engineer status.

David was an active in the community serving as Cubmaster, Justice of the peace (Magistrate), member of the Republican Party and served as a precinct worker, and served on the zoning board of Merrimack, NH. He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed repairing and maintaining motorcycles. David was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and Rotary International.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Paddock and granddaughter, Virginia Paddock.

Surviving family include his wife, Betty Prather Cummings; sons, David Anders Paddock, II and Andrew Forrest Paddock; daughter, Lynn Paddock Lewis; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 11 AM, Friday, December 11, 2020 in the chapel of Ray Funeral & Cremation Service. Attendees must adhere to COVID 19 guidelines. Urn interment will be Monday, 10 AM, Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
