Darlene was born on Saturday, November 10th, 1962 in Asheville, N.C. to James and Thelma Resper. She attended Asheville High School. She spent many years working at Wal-Mart and worked for Lowe’s where her co-workers spoke highly of her and she will be sorely missed. Other significant times in her life include her children’s births. Jezoar Resper April, 10 1978, Leticia Adams March, 27 1984, Hosea Resper January 9, 2001, and Elisha Resper September 17th, 2002. She was affectionately called “Doll” (because she looked like a babydoll as an infant) and was the baby sister to her 6 siblings who loved her dearly. “We’re going to miss you very much sister”, says Andrea.

Darlene was a pillar within her family and community where she cared for her family and attended Crossroads Church in Asheville. She loved her children and grandchildren very much and bragged about them to everyone she encountered, showing pictures with a big grin. As her children reflect together on who their mom was, this is their memories and favorite things about her. “Her smile”, says Hosea, “Helping me and my kids”, says Leticia, “She was kind to anyone she ever met”, says Elisha, “A big heart and unconditional love for us no matter what”, says Jezoar. “a faithful servant of the Lord that prayed over her children, grandchildren and friends”, they all four agreed. She will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew her.
