Mr. Bobby Ray Hall’s spirit transitioned from this life and entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 9, 2020. Bob was born in Anderson, South Carolina on April 6,1947 to the late Yancey and Sylvene B Hall.
Mr. Hall attended Fort Street School in Anderson S.C., Lockland Community School in Cincinnati, Ohio. In Asheville, he attended Livingston Street School, Hill Street School and was a member of Stephens-Lee High School, class of 1965.
In his earlier years, Bob was a member of the Hill Street Baptist church wide softball team and served briefly as Church Custodian.
Bob served in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. He received several citation honors as well as an Honorable Discharge . After his time in the army, Bob continued to work in a capacity where he was of service to people. His service continued as an employee of Jareds Press, the Juvenile Evaluation Center, Montgomery Ward, Sears Automotive and the Asheville City School’s.
Bob loved his family and especially enjoyed spoiling his grandkids, who warmly call him “Daddy”. Bob was a devoted Dallas Cowboy fan. He was also an avid golfer who enjoyed this pastime with his closest friends.
Mr. Bobby Hall was preceded in death by his parents, Charles P. Hall (uncle), Laura M. Huff , Mildred Clinkscales and Easter L. Hall (aunts who helped raise him).
Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy are his Life Partner, Nancy Grant of Asheville; daughters, April “Honeybunch” Hall McGee (Mike) and Kim Grant both of Charlotte; twin sister, Brenda Faye Whiteside of West Palm Beach, Florida; brothers, Benjamin P. Hall, John L. Hall (Rosa) of Asheville, George H. Hall of Columbia, S.C., aunt, Lillia Gaffney of Asheville, 6 grandkids; 2 great-grand kids; nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Bob was was the epitome of cool, calm and collected! His warm and kind spirit will be missed by everyone that knew him, loved him and considered him a friend. May his soul rest in eternal peace!
Public viewing will be from 3:00-6:00 pm Saturday, November 14, 2020 and 1:00-5:00 pm Sunday, November 15, 2020 in the chapel of Ray Funeral & Cremation Service. Funeral service will be 10:30 am Monday, November 16, 2020 also in the chapel. Burial will follow at WC State Veterans Cemetery.
